Bedside Table FAQS
How should I style a bedside table?
Styling a bedside table is all about balance and function. Start with a lamp for practical lighting, then add a few decorative items such as a small plant, a stack of books, or a scented candle for personality. Keep clutter to a minimum by choosing a table with drawers or shelves, and aim for a mix of heights and textures to create visual interest.
How high should a bedside table be?
Ideally, your bedside table should be level with the top of your mattress or just slightly below—usually between 60cm to 70cm in height for most standard beds. This makes it easy to reach items without straining. Always measure your bed height first to find the best match for comfort and functionality.
What should I put on a bedside table?
Your bedside table should hold the essentials you need within arm’s reach. This might include a table lamp, alarm clock, a glass of water, and a few personal touches like a framed photo or a calming candle. For a cleaner look, use trays or organisers to group items and avoid clutter.
How do I match a bedside table with my bed?
To create a cohesive look, consider matching your bedside table’s material, colour, or style with your bed frame. For example, pair a wooden bed with timber nightstands in similar tones, or contrast a fabric bedhead with sleek metal or marble-topped tables. You can also mix styles intentionally—just ensure they share a common design element, such as shape, finish, or colour palette.
